Change of use to secondary school
Middlesbrough
Our northern planning specialists secured approval for the temporary change of use of offices at Russell Street, Middlesbrough to a secondary school under Class T of the General Permitted Development Rights.
The proposal included internal alterations to create classrooms and other facilities on the site, including the communal rooms, offices and staff rooms, storage rooms, bicycle storage garages and a roof plant room. Externally, there will be a play area within part of the existing car park.
The temporary permission will enable the Outwood Academy Riverside, which will be a seven-form entry school for 11-16-year olds to open and grow incrementally whilst a permanent site is being secured in the surrounding area.
Permission was granted subject to only one condition.
