Hemisphere One will be the first building within the ambitious Hemisphere development in Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, located in Paddington Village and developed by Sciontec-a partnership between Liverpool City Council, the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, and Bruntwood SciTech. Designed as a next-generation workspace for the city's fast-growing innovation and life sciences sectors, Hemisphere One will set new standards in sustainability, flexibility, and research-ready infrastructure.

Size and Scope
Hemisphere One provides approximately 117,000 sq ft of high-quality workspace across eight floors, featuring large, flexible floorplates suited to a range of laboratory and office configurations. As the first phase of the Hemisphere development, it forms the foundation of a combined innovation campus footprint exceeding 217,000 sq ft once Hemisphere Two is completed.

Laboratory Facilities
Purpose-built to support advanced scientific and technology-driven organisations, Hemisphere One will accommodate specialist bio, chemistry, and digital/data laboratories, with options for incubator, grow-on, and commercial lab space. The building's high-spec design incorporates write-up areas, collaboration zones, and adaptable lab layouts capable of supporting automation and cutting-edge research workflows.

Sustainable Design
Hemisphere One is set to become one of the UK's first new-build workspaces designed to achieve operational net-zero carbon, alongside leading global sustainability credentials including BREEAM Excellent, WELL Platinum, WiredScore, EPC A, and an anticipated NABERS 5.5* rating. Biophilic features such as planted internal glasshouses, maximised natural light, and enhanced ventilation create a healthier, greener environment for building users.
