Kingswood Case Study

Carter Jonas’s Building Surveying Team was appointed by the Governors of Kingswood School, Lansdowne, Bath to inspect the numerous historic and modern buildings comprising Kingswood School. Additionally to prepare a planned maintenance report with prioritised maintenance work and costings over a 5 year period.

The site and buildings were inspected over a 2 week period we subsequently produced a prioritised maintenance repair schedule and maintenance work was then scheduled. The work involved inspecting not only historic listed education buildings but also more recent dormitory buildings and sports facilities.

Following preparation of the planned maintenance survey report the intention was then to develop and prepare a detailed planned preventative maintenance programme of repairs over the next 5 years. The report identified major fabric repairs together with advice on statutory matters such as health and safety, access and fire prevention and means of escape.
