Purley Park Trust Housing
Purley Park, Berkshire
Set in the historic grounds of a James Wyatt Grade II* Listed building, the scheme comprises five special housing units for the mentally challenged; 25 two- and three-bedroom general purpose flats and maisonettes; and six apartments within the mansion.
The site was built to conform to modern functional requirements of a care home whilst providing a domestic and homely environment for the residents. The arrangement and buildings composition reflects the historic woodland setting and the scheme met the approval of English Heritage and The Georgian Society. It also includes reclamation of the 18th-century landscape.
