Swedish Wharf London

We undertook a capacity study on behalf of Fuel Oils Holdings to determine the development capacity for a site in central London on the northern banks of the Thames near Wandsworth Bridge.

The narrow wharf site currently supports a fuel storage facility with associated parking, storage and office facilities. Our proposals needed to consider the Safeguarded Wharf requirements which require the protection of access onto the River Thames, together with re-provision of the existing storage facilities at basement level beneath the proposed residential buildings.

Access allows for commercial and private vehicles associated with the fuel storage facility and private apartments to function alongside each other within the narrow, confined site through a SUAL basement solution. The scheme achieves 187 homes at a policy compliant mix, including 75 affordable units.
